Review of 2013
Year 2013 has been pretty eventful for me. It can be broadly divided into 3 main themes: OKB, PBG and CGH.
1. OKB. Orang kaya baru.
I had originally planned to use my retention money for my wedding and we all know that's not happening anytime soon. So rather than let the money 'rot' in the bank, I chose to spend the money now, wisely and foolishly.
The big ticket expenses were my lasik op, my Galaxy Note 10.1, my NC700X (and accessories), and more recently my new Olympus Tough TG-2. All these items have been beneficial for me so I won't regret spending on them. There also smaller items (not necessarily cheap) that could also be deemed useful.
Of course, I did splurge on the wasteful and the unnecessary. All in all, my net spending this year is an all time high.
2. PBG. Perangai budak gemuk.
One thing that irked me throughout the year has been my weight. And people questioning about it. And people talking about it. Annoying.
Previously I did some half-hearted attempts to lose the fats but obviously they weren't fruitful. My bike accident was not helpful either.
I used to brush off those comments with the argument that I was still fit and could still do my fire fighting, silat, soccer, swimming, etc.
But during the past one week, I had a sparring session at SP training camp and did a Selingan performance at the Kejohanan Silat Cemerlang, and frankly speaking, I really felt my weight.
It's time to do something. For starters, I'm avoiding rice. Today is the 4th day. Let's keep it up and slowly work on improving my diet and train hard.
3. CGH. Changi General Hospital.
At the start of the year, I had plantar fasciitis. Then around June, I fractured my left hand from my bike accident.
It has been an accident-ful year.
Good news is the plantar has been fading off / recovering and it seems my hand has healed well enough I could still do pull ups.. Well some pull ups.
Nonetheless, I hope not to suffer further injuries in the near future.
So that kinda sums up the main take-aways from 2013. Let's not talk about relationships and what-not.. Cos for most part of the year it was non-existent. But I still feel it has been a good year. It is definitely a memorable.
For a guy like me who can't remember dates, I'm sure 2013 will stand out in the years to come.
