The last week as firebikers. By next we will all be back in rota, with only 4 of us remaining in Paya Lebar.
Compared to the others who have been on this shift for more than 4 years, I've only been a Firebiker for a short while. But August 2015 seem so long ago.
I truly enjoyed my time as a Firebiker. The team. The shift. The calls both medical and fire rescue. Getting to know more people within Paya Lebar across the 3 rotas and the ambulance side. Becoming a more independent fire fighter.
I hope I can adapt back to Rota life easily. Gonna be joining Rota 2 with Chiko. New challenges ahead. Let's do this!
In a way, I knew my time as a firebiker under this scheme was never gonna be long, cos when I wanted to join there were already talk about returning back to rota. So I took this as my 'break' from Rota life. As I watched Rota 3 do their drill this morning, I realised I have much to get back into.
I'm feeling rather melancholy this morning. Will miss these guys. Will miss my 'independence'. But at least I'm still in Paya Lebar.
