soothing
The past few days have been quite interesting. Thursday night (overnight in fact), Friday half day and Sunday was spent with my mom's side of the family for my Uncle Ahmad Suradi's passing away. I stayed over that night to keep my aunty's family company with my parents. Though it is best to bury a Muslim as soon as possible, my uncle's body came back late that Thursday so we could only bury him the next day. So we kept vigil (right term?), read surah Yasin (yep, I did finish it.. rustily.. surprisingly.. Alhamdulillah) and tried to stay awake. Only my dad stayed up all the way. I actually nodded off around 4-5am when my other Aunt (3rd oldest, just above my mom) woke up. Ganti shift laa.. hehe..
Well I did learn a few things from the funeral. My oldest cousin is actually adopted by my aunt. (Shocker). One of my belated uncle's cousin is the President of Alhaq's association. I was reminded that my aunt knows Iskandar Jalil.
In other news...
Leslie finally decides to sell the bike. Thing is, I talked to my dad, my other uncle (mom's only brother) and my bro Anwar about it individually and all of them share the opinion that that bike is not really a good bike. Anwar of course recommended me bikes that he knew I don't like (scooters) but thanks for the help there bro. My dad only mentioned that the bike's petrol consumption is quite excessive. My uncle not only discourage me but offered a good alternative, repair my dad's bike fully, make it road worthy, use it then sell it afterwards.
Right now, I'm truly considering taking up my Uncle's idea. Think of it, only pay insurance for sub-rider, perhaps pay half of the repairs, then the bike is ready for use. Compare that to the money I could be spending on paying for my friend's bike... it's soo much cheaper. I mean, I could use the vespa til I actually have money for another bike. After all, I'm also saving for Class 3. Wow. Thanks Pak Alang!
So now, all I have to do is sit down with my dad and discuss it further. I don't mind using the vespa, though I'll like to think that it's a temporary thing. I do intend to buy my own bike eventually so if I use the vespa, it should allow me to save money for my own bike, the bike I want. I don't really want a KRR, I prefer an RXZ.
See, it's always good to seek a second (or more) opinion.
