5 things that has happened in one month
Been exactly 1 month, 1 day since my last post. Quite a few developments. So I'll just briefly touch on them, in random order, as they pop up in my head while I'm typing it out.
Firstly, a few months back the tiles in the living room.. erm, popped/cracked/burst/expanded/whatever.. haha.. I was on the com when I started hearing some crackling sound. Next thing I know the floor had a bump.. and it kept expanding. First thing I did was to alert my parents (by shouting, not.. running to them and screaming "Daddy! Daddy! The floor burped!"... no no.. that will be wrong...) then I checked to see if the floor is hot. Theoretically, if the floor's hot... the house below us maybe on fire... but it wasnt (damn). Anyways we suspect when the contractors first laid the tiles (under the original owners) either they used low-grade materials or some gas got trapped or something... whatever. End product: Floor was damaged.
We didn't do anything for quite a while because a) we were busy, b) no one wanted to take charge and find out how much to repair, etc, c) no money to spare. Crucially because of (c). So when my dad got some bonus, we finally made some effort to get the floor fixed. (We as in my mom, the Super-woman =D )
Floor's finally fixed and since the room was cleared, we also decided to paint the room. Nice sky blue and yellow at the area in front of the door. The contractors did a nice job. Now all that's left is for them to wash the floor, paint the door, grill, doorframes and of course give us the bill. Hurray.
Secondly, IVP has started.. and at this time, about to end. This Sunday's the last day. Thus far, SP has 3 Semi-finalists and 3 quarter-finalists left in the tournament. This year we had a modest goal for the athletes : win their first game. Alhamdulillah, most have achieved it. That in itself is a marked improvement from last year. Only 5 guys did not win their first game. Not bad lah, for us.
Thirdly, KPSK about to start. In fact, it begins the week after IVP. No rest for the Silat enthusiasts! Yesterday was the first day I attended a KPSK training. Haha... hey, I've got a valid excuse! I was training SP! hehe..
Fourth...ly.. my application has been accepted. Alhamdulillah. I requested to start work in October after Raya, so yeah, at least enjoy my ORD a bit lah.
I am utterly grateful to Allah swt, for making my passage in life relatively easy. When it comes to making vital decisions with regards to my life, I have often gotten what I wanted. I got into TK. I got into Literature stream. I got into SP DMC. I got into ERS. I got into Changi FS. I will be a Regular. Many other examples. I realise this and I am truly grateful. Just as how I realise the flow in my life in general has been quite smoothly, I too am aware that when it comes to love however... I do not get what I want. In a way. In most ways. I have to strive harder. I fail and fall so many times. Ah well, can't have everything going in my way I guess.
Fifth. My sis loaned me this book. Teaches (or rather reminds) us to be positive. In thought. In action. Very very interesting, insightful. I like it. So yes, everyday I wake up I try to keep myself positive. So far okay. I do have my down times but I try not to let it affect others. So far, I like what I've felt and experienced. The book is titled "Positive Words, Powerful Results" by Hal Urban. Trust me, it's worth the read.
