Crouch
Aah... the Liverpool forward. Just watched the Aston Villa v Liverpool Game.
You know, I don't think he's there to score goals. He's there as an unorthordox playmaker. He's there to confuse everyone, including his own teammates. Probably himself. Defenders who believe the hype surrounding him will spend their time marking him tightly, only to leave wide gaps for other Red player to score. Defenders who don't will realise he IS a threat and become confuse whether to ignore or pay close attention to him.
I mean, COME ON! This game, he was pulled down by the defender and the penalty was scored by Gerrard. In a way, he 'created' the penalty. But the second goal was ridiculous. A square pass from the right is set nicely for him, only for him to miss. It crosses the goal all the way to the other side where another Liverpool player receives it and passes it again to Crouch. All he had to do was tap it in but noooo, the defender again clears the ball. But as Crouch curses himself for his wretched luck in front of the goal, the ball lands in front of Xabi Alonso, who makes no mistake putting the ball in the net.
See? Distraction? Pulls defenders all over the place?
Yeah RIGHT! Benitez! Get another striker!
