oRang aRab makan pRata gaRing-gaRing..
I am a Spidey fan. Not as big a fan as many others, but a fan nonetheless. But I didn't watch Spider-Man 3 today. No chance. What with today being a public holiday and no movie companion, I decided I'd go tomorrow. But it still sucks that I didn't watch on the first day. Ah well...
It almost seems like I'm collecting scars and scratches (mostly scratches ah, all minor-minor) from every duty since the sliding pole incident. A bunch of tiny black dots from the sliding pole.. burn? A small scratch from the.. erm... "morning swim" and yesterday, very painful scratch from falling during soccer. The pathetic thing is none of these were inflicted during an actual duty, if you get what I mean. These ain't "battle-scars", these are... erm, scratches.
Maybe you can say I'm lucky. =)
Last duty.. last night in fact, my colleagues were talking... erm, cock. As in talking about nothing. But I remember one.. conversation(?) that I can relate to... One colleague to another, asking about his girlfriend, then he started to talk about the girl's name starting with the letter "R" and how my friend (like myself, but me being too new not much attention was paid to me) can't pronounce "R" well. Malays call it pelat. So the joker teased my friend, "Don't get a girlfriend with the name starting with R, later when you wanna marry you'll have difficulties pronouncing her name during the solemnisation and will have to do it many times!"
Though we all laughed at the comment, I realised that what he said was actually practical. So... does this mean I can't marry any girls with "R" in their name? Hehe.. who knows.. But it does strike a cord with me and makes me wonder.
And yet again I refer back to that one sole quote I actually memorised from Romeo and Juliet, the only quote I armed myself with entering the O levels: "What is in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name will smell as sweet."
