Cannons?
What did the Singapore Soccer U-23 team think they are? Portugese Man-of-War firing at the Vietnamese goal, hoping that one of their cannonballs will vaporise the goalie?!
Similar to the Newcastle V Chelsea game, it was a case of "1st Half SHIOK!, 2nd Half WTF?!?!" I have to say that the referee fucking influenced the flow of the game. How did Vietnam equalise? By scoring with a free kick in the 4th minute of injury time in the first half, which incidentally was quite smooth-flowing. 4 Minutes?!? 4 fucking minutes?! There wasn't much time-wasting, there were very few stoppages, so where did he conjure the 4 minutes from? Tomorrow's games??
Then there's the penalty appeals. I can't really comment cos' we weren't shown the replays. One was supposed to be a foul by the goalkeeper while the other was a handball in the penalty box.
I have to admit, Vietnam's no 10 isn't too bad. Maybe an S-league team oughta to buy him. Hehehe.
I was trying to figure out why was Singapore struggling so much in the 2nd half. I realised it was because they keep conceding possession. I don't mind them playing long balls, as long as they get to your target. They keep hitting the Vietnamese players! It's like suicidal, giving the opposition numerous chances to strike.
The team isn't too bad. Lionel Lewis can't be blamed too much for the goals. Shahril Ishak was, IMO, the best Singapore player on the pitch tonight.
But what about Precious? Rosman? Ashrin the striker? Precious was beaten by the Viet Strikers soo often. I'm not sure but I think Rosman is the holding midfielder. The reason I mention him is he was often standing on the brink of expulsion. Ashrin was crap. Full stop.
Sigh. I hope they play better against Indonesia. At least they play a lot better than in recent years, so mini-yay there.
Night.
