The Number 2
Watched Jim Carrey's "The Number 23"? Even if you have not, like me, you would have have heard about the movie. Mostly it's about how Jim Carrey's character keep seeing the number 23 in everywhere.
Recently I realised, hey, the number 2 resonates a lot in my life. I'm my dad's 2nd son. the highest I got for exams and tests was 2nd in class. I got more silver medals than gold or bronze (only 1 gold and 1 bronze thus far). When I was in Pri 3 and started going to madrasah, I took the bus 2 and 24 to go for the classes. 24 - a multiple of 2. Some of my best years in primary school was in primary 5 and 6, in class 5/2 and 6/2.
Tanjong Katong Sec was my 2nd option after Victoria. At TK, I was in 1B and 2B. B- 2nd letter in the alphabets. What about Poly? My class is DMC 02. Hmm.. Enter NS. Posted into 101 intake. 1+0+1 = 2. Bravo Company, platoon 6. Bravo = B = 2nd letter. 6 = multiple of 2.
Posted to 23rd ERS Rota 2. ROTA 2... My rota got 2nd placing in the firemanship challenge. I got silver for my last IPPT. I was posted to Changi Fire Station, a.k.a. Station 22. Two-two. Oh, and guess what.. I'm in Rota 2.
Coincidence... or significant?
Or am I just seeing something in nothing? Haha..
