Sudden thought

"Patience is a virtue" - a cliche that I myself use once too often. Yet ironically, the only way to inculcate patience is... by being patient. There's no way around it. You want to be patient, you have to force yourself to sit still and not rush, not haste.

So if you don't have patience in the first place, you're just gonna have to be patient to become a patient person - if you have the patience to go through it's difficulties. :P

I don't know about you guys but though it's kinda logical or even factual, it's still kinda an irony to me.

I don't know what's gotten into me, just that when I thought about it, it sounded... strange. "To be patient, one has to be patient." Yes, it's kinda obvious but try to think it through. Think through all the different connotations.

It's not the same as, "to be hungry, one has to hunger." So many ways to starve yourself. Spend all your money so you become a property-rich poor or look yourself in a cupboard and throw away the key or fast... you know what I mean? Is it really the same with patience?

Think about it. What do you think?
