Touched.
"Our Ganda is a three-men team."
That is one of the best compliments I've ever received from my fellow Silat brothers. I'm truly touched and you have my deepest gratitude.
In a way, all three of us owe each other a lot. They gave me that invaluable maiden experience of coaching a Ganda team and trying out my ideas and I gave them that opportunity to test their abilities in that category. It was a heart-break that for all our efforts, I caused our loss. Nervousness and misunderstanding of the rules failed me, disappointed us.
Yet somehow, you were willing to follow me yet again years later, older and wiser. Yet you follow me. It was definitely not a smooth ride but we did enough to win bronze though we could have and should have gotten a silver.
I feel I still owe you guys that gold. I feel that my meagre knowledge, creativity and preparations was inadequate and I wish I could do more. Not this year, perhaps some day. But you guys have to do your part. I hope you guys won't disappoint me.
Just because I'm not involved this year doesn't mean you guys will lose. In fact, you guys should take up this challenge and show your mettle. If you guys do get in the Ganda team, you get to be coached by a more competent, creative and experience coach who may get you where I could not.
I feel weary this year. I don't feel inspired to really help out at TS, unlike at SP where I have more control. I feel restricted, with so many capable people (some of them more talented than me) there. I'm sorry.. not this year... but some day, Allah s.w.t. willing.. some day.
